This tradition comes from an Old English Rhyme. This tradition is said to bring the Bride good fortune if she carries these on her wedding day!

OLD = Represents Continuity
NEW = Offers Optimism for the Future
BORROWED = Symbolizes borrowed happiness
BLUE = Stands for Purity, Love, Fidelity
The color blue has been connected to weddings for centuries even Brides in Ancient Rome wore Blue.

For my own wedding,

-New, I had a brand new pair of cowboy boots & Bracelet from my Aunt Patti.

-Old & Borrowed, I wore my Grandma’s Pin & Grandpa’s Handkerchief .

-Blue, I wore a hair pin from my sister.
